Chic Teak is a family run business which has been trading successfully for fifteen years. We continue to maintain the popular core items of our range as well as introducing a few new designs each year.

Our teak is from Central Java where it is grown on Government controlled plantations. This means it is sustainable as the number of trees felled each year is limited to the number of trees planted. Each tree is numbered and monitored so we can track where the timber comes from.

The wood is kiln dried to a low moisture content and we only buy the heartwood which is dense and oily. This high quality teak has been used for generations to make the benches for public parks and the decks of luxurious yachts.

We have been using the same small workshops for many years and work very closely with them, visiting two or three times a year. We employ a local quality control manager who oversees the whole manufacturing process with rigour. Our business is important to them and because we have built up good relationships we know we can depend on each other.

Our furniture is made to our own high specifications and compares very favourably in both quality and price to other high end suppliers in the market.

Using high grade teak and drying it to less than 15% moisture content produces long lasting furniture. With 4cm tops and 6-8 cm legs each piece is substantial and sturdy.
