Keep on Gardening with Wooden Planters
Although this may not seem like the obvious time of year for it, now is the time to get your garden prepared for summer. As we Brits know all too well, summer can strike at any time and then disappear again just as quickly. Especially after having a heat-wave in October, we know that the weather is more than a little unpredictable.
Aside from preparing your garden by getting any outdoor furniture you may need nice and early in preparation of any opportunities to get outside that may arrive, the green-fingered amongst you have got plenty to be getting on with. December isn’t usually the coldest or wettest month of the year so it is surprising how much can be achieved in the garden. Although the weather can still throw you a curveball, there are fewer pests and far more precipitation than in summer so growing a few new plants is not out of the question. You can still plant, although make sure the flowers you go for are hardy enough to resist the winter chill. Usually any you find still flowering in the garden centre at this time of year should be fine, as will any with a tough bark on them.
The ideal thing to do is plant larger, tougher specimens such as trees and shrubs, although as with any planting make sure the ground isn’t too wet. You can gain a bit more control over your planting with a Versailles planter. These stand-alone wooden planters look great and are ideal for your winter gardening needs.
