The Humble Memorial Bench

We may never be clear on the origins of the memorial bench tradition, but a steadfast part of our culture it is nonetheless.  We live in an unfortunately secular world, with feathers easily ruffled and communities simply driven apart. You may choose to remember a loved one with a park or garden memorial bench. Memorial benches seem to provide an agenda-free place for many people and their stories to take quiet reflection.  Of course the most prized locations are generally parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty, however many of the most popular locations cannot accommodate new memorial benches.
An increasingly popular option is the creation of a memorial bench for your own garden.  This negates the tiresome need to interact with councils and park officers, which can be very draining and upsetting. Our teak memorial benches are skilfully crafted using top quality, slowly kiln-dried teak to ensure a lifetime of use. Simply instruct us as to what style, size and material you would like your bench to be created in. Alternatively, would a tree seat or garden swing seat be suitable? If you’re looking for a personal, creative way to remember your loved one, teak is arguably the best material in which to do it (some garden seats can last over a hundred years). More unconventional ideas include a memorialised teak planter, gardeners trug (to remember who taught you the tricks to growing the best roses) and hammock seats.
Feel free to ask us any questions concerning your own ideas too.
